It’s with great pride I welcome you to the brand new Overstand site!

First of all I’d like to thank all of you for your support on our journey thus far.  It’s been a fairly slow start, but finally the ideas I’ve had for years are taking shape.  The most important thing from my point of view is providing loads of interesting content for you all – we’ve been listening to your ideas, asking questions and taking on board all the responses over the last few months, and we’ll endeavour to do that moving into the future.  Speaking of which…

What have we got lined up in the short term future?

Most recently we had Logic’s brand new solo album, ‘Spectator’ drop on August 22nd.  It’s a great body of work so please check it out!  We’ve also got the Logic & RU1 Fam album produced by myself coming out on September 26th which I’m really excited about.  RU1 Fam are such a great collective of artists, each of them bringing something different to the table yet fitting perfectly into my vision of what Overstand should be.  The album itself is really listenable, I’m very proud of it and can’t wait for you all to hear it.  Moving into the future, we have projects lined up including more work with RU1 Fam, Cee Major, a series of collaborative EPs with myself, Logic and the likes of Amy True, Mighty Moe of Heartless Crew and a few more we’ll keep under wraps for now.  We have been fairly inactive in terms of putting out music for the public and that is something I really want to address over the coming months!

We have our first ever Overstand event coming up on Friday 3rd October at The Flyover, Ladbroke Grove, London to coincide with the release of the Logic & RU1 album, We Are One.  With special guests including the legendary Klashnekoff, Micall Parknsun, the highly talented Cee Major and one of my favourite artists coming to the fore in Flabz, I’m really excited about having a more regular presence in the live arena.  This will become a more regular thing, and eventually I’d love to take it across the country and even further out.  If anyone would like to speak about potential collaboration ideas then please get in touch at overstandhq@gmail.com.

In addition to this I’ve been working really hard at putting together the Podcast series.  This will be hosted on iTunes, on our site and all over the internet, and will contain loads of fresh new music, some music that I personally love, competitions and relevant information as to what’s going on in our little spectrum of UK Hip Hop.  We’ll be expanding over the next couple of months to include some interview based shows, introducing a free mobile app which will allow you to download and stream the podcast on the move, and most importantly we’ll be completely open to all manner of ideas from you all.  Similarly, if you have music that you want to send for consideration to be played on the podcast, please send tracks to overstandpodcast@gmail.com.  I’l endeavour to give feedback on tracks wherever possible.  That is the address to send any ideas, feedback or criticism regarding the podcast – we want to tailor it to what you want to hear to all ideas will be taken on board.

We’ve also been working hard on a plethora of new clothing designs, starting with a pair of new t-shirts I’m really happy with that are available in the shop now!  As winter draws in we’ll be expanding this range to include hoodies, beanies and the like.  I’m investing more money than I need to with regard to the quality of the tees to make sure the range has a premium feel – all new merchandise from now on will be properly branded and printed to the highest quality.  Hopefully you will love the designs as much as we do!

As you can see, we’ve been really busy and I hope you all enjoy what we have in store for you over the coming months and years.  We want you all to feel as much a part of our growth as we do!  Thank you for the continuing support.
